WellnessWorks Physical Therapy is an outpatient rehabilitation company located in Owings Millls, Maryland that services the northwest Baltimore communities of Reisterstown, Owings Mills, Pikesville, Towson and Cockeysville. WellnessWorks specializes in the evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal dysfunction of the spine and extremities utilizing manually based physical therapy. WellnessWorks is owned and directed by Scott Coon, PT,MTC,CFMT. Scott has been in practice for over twenty years and has attended numerous national conferences on the subject of orthopedic manual physical therapy. Today, Scott is one of only a handful of physical therapists in the United States holding certification in manual physical therapy from both the University of St. Augustine and the Institute of Physical Art. WellnessWorks utilizes a manually based treatment called Functional Mobilization (FM). Created by Gregory Johnson, PT, FFCFMT, FM was developed after years of eclectic study of many different treatment approaches. By addressing all 3 major components of a dysfunction, the structural, the neurological and the functional, FM allows the clinician to provide a more comprehensive treatment than would otherwise be possible, thereby minimizing the risk of recidivism, a common problem with many treatment programs today.
